Geomechanics in one comic.
Geologist: “I just need a number.”
Petrophysicist: “You don’t need a number. You want a number.”
Subsurface interpretation is messy.
Incomplete data.
Empirical relationships from the 1970s.
Logs that may or may not have been run on a Tuesday.
But somehow we still have to answer the question:
“What’s the pore pressure?”
I made this comic after finishing my book on petrophysics because it perfectly captures the reality of subsurface interpretation.
If you work in geology, drilling, or petrophysics — you’ve probably had this exact conversation.
